Complete 'Coat of Arms' document to show your search skills, typing/voice typing ability, and Turning In an Assignment to Google Classroom.
Google Classroom is where you will keep up-to-date with what is happening in your classes. Your teachers will post announcements, assignments, homework and resources you will need. Having the Google Classroom page open first thing for the class you are in would be a great habit to get into and you should check each of your classes once-a-day.
👍 Pro tip: 'Pin' your Google Classroom tab in your Chrome browser so it is always easily available.
You will enrol into your core class Google Classroom during this Boot Camp. Throughout the year you may be added (or leave) Google Classroom classes for your option subjects.
Google Classroom - Student Workflow
To keep on top of your classwork and homework assignments you need to follow the 5-step student workflow:
In Google Classroom:
1. Check the class tiles - these will show any assignment due within the week.
2. Check the Stream for announcements - your teacher may need to send the class a message.
3. Check the Classwork page for assignment details and links to resource materials
4. Check the Google Classroom calendar - you can switch between showing all class due dates for the week or just one subject
5. Check your email - it is important to check your email. Not all information comes from Google Classroom
Open up Google Classroom. You will need the join code from your teacher to join the correct Classroom.
Explore your Google Classroom
View a 'Classwork' tab (how do you know if an assignment has been completed and submitted?)
Post a comment in the class stream. Remember that your name is attached to this comment so make sure it is appropriate or your teacher can delete you comment and 'mute' you to stop you making any comments at all.
Find where you can manage the email notification settings. What notifications do you need? You probably want to turn off email notifications, as you are checking Classroom every day.
Now demonstrate that you can use Classroom, Drive, and Docs. In Google Classroom, open the Assignment called 'Coat of Arms' and follow the instructions on this document.
