CELL PHONES EAR-BUDS (AND OTHER PERSONAL DEVICES)
Cellphones are banned from use at school during all school hours (8:35am - 3:10pm) They can only be used in class learning time for learning when teacher permission is given.
NOTE; When lining up and entering classes, all Phones, earbuds, and headphones must turned off and in your school bag.
Students are not encouraged to use personal devices such as laptops or i-pads during break times, however, if they choose to, they must be used appropriately at all times and with respect for others. The school takes no responsibility for damaged or lost devices that are used during break times.
Inappropriate use:
Using the device to photograph, film or voice record anyone else (with or without their consent). Using the device to harass, bully or threaten anyone else in any way. Using the device to personally access, store or show anyone else any socially inappropriate, offensive, or illegal material.
Tablet/iPad users - sorry, you can't create a Google site with your device 🙁Your teacher will give you an alternative such as creating a Google Slide
Create you website that will be used to make your learning visible.
Go to Googles Sites (sites.google.com/new) and click on the + button in the bottom right to create your site.
Add the following new pages
Positive Attitude
Communication
Confidence
Perseverance
Effort
Respect
On the home page and insert combination of videos and images that tells your teachers a little bit about you. You could include inserting your favourite Youtube video.
Publish you site and add the link to Google Sheet your teacher has shared with you on Classroom.
Extension: Make sure you use media that is copy right free (see below).
Ask yourself:
Have you ever used a photo from Google Image Search in a school presentation? Did you publish that presentation online?
Have you shared a video on Youtube (or other site) where you inserted music?
What is stealing? Which of the above scenarios would you say involve stealing?
If it's on the internet, is it stealing to take it?

We use copyrighted material every day. We enjoy media as consumers (we watch videos and listen to songs and read websites). And we also download and use media for our own creations (we make Insta posts, Tik Tok, and music or art). Everything we produce as creators is automatically copyrighted material. No one else can take your writing or drawing or music creation and use it without your permission. It is like dealing with other property you have, such as a scooter. You may be happy to have others use your scooter with your permission, but would get angry if someone took it without your permissions, and even more wild if someone took your scooter and sold it!
